The Way to Castle Hill

An arch in Tenby town wall, leading to the beach and the Caldey boats. The Path on the left leads to Tenby Museum and Art Gallery, where Augustus John and his sister Gwen feature in the work displayed.



Summer visitors having a drink at The Ship” in Llangrannog, the village Elgar visited in 1900 and having heard a choir sing on the headland- incorporated resonances of the songs in to sequences of his Introduction and Allegro.


The Walled Garden

Shows the walled garden at Colby Lodge, the National Trust property. The painting is in homage to the watercolours of John Singer Sargent, mush admired by the artist. The treatment is free and direct evoking the gardens atmosphere.
